Next Stop: the new way to travel with Hallmark Bus
29 March 2019
Last year we invested over £1m in brand new vehicles for our Surrey routes. We also upgraded our website and introduced an app featuring mobile tickets and live tracking. We continue our commitment to our local area by revolutionising the way you travel daily.
Over the last few months we have been working closely with an exciting new start-up tech company who have spent years monitoring habits of commuters. Information collated by our partner have led to numerous technological advances and introductions such as contactless payments, onboard WiFi, USB power points, next stop information and bespoke branded radio stations transmitted to vehicles.
Research from Plaid Floorays shows that 79% of public transport users do not like to share their seat and opt to put their bags, shopping or papers to indicate a reserved space. Of those respondents, 94% identified themselves as (awkward) Brits.
Working with Plaid Floorays, we’ve been able to build a live seat reservation system. effective from April 2019, seats can be reserved for £5 per journey. We even offer the chance to book out two seats or the whole back row!
We’re proud to be the first company to introduce the new technology to Surrey and look forward to hearing the feedback.
How do I reserve my seat?
Download the Hallmark Bus app and click on ‘seat map’. You should find this before paying for your ticket.
How many seats can I reserve?
You can reserve one seat, both seats together, or even the entire back row! Unfortunately we cannot allow reservations of the driver’s seat at this time… but we’re working on it!
What does it cost?
You can reserve your favourite seat for £5, or the two together (with only one bus ticket) for £15. You can reserve the back row for £50.
What if someone is sat in my seat?
Politely ask them to move.
How will I know which one is my seat?
There will be a note attached to the handle of the seat indicating ‘RESERVED’ with the boarding and alighting stage.
What if I change my mind?
You can politely ask someone to swap seats with you but we cannot guarantee that person will agree.
When does this start?
The new initiative begins on April 1st 2019.
Who are Plaid Floorays?
A new start-up tech company based in Wales with the backing of Royal Spoilfad.
Is this an April Fool's?
